Gear Up was founded in 2006 by Saadia Sami – an adventure enthusiast and Major Baasir Hanif, an ex- army officer. The store was born out of a need for a place dedicated to outdoor adventure equipment that, at the time, did not exist in Pakistan.The store immediately started offering branded adventure equipment . Within a few months the store expanded its product line and started offering climbing, fishing and hunting, mountaineering, trekking accessories as a comprehensive “Adventure Solution”. The main purpose of this store was to offer outdoor equipment to help the individuals and families discover nature.

Gear Up is the only outdoor adventure equipment retail/rental outfitter in Islamabad to offer a wide range of branded/non-branded outdoor equipment to its clients. Due to the natural calamities that hit Pakistan Gear Up expanded its line of operations and started offering Rescue and Safety solutions/ equipment to individuals as well as local/INGOs. Gear Up is an active member of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in addition to various other adventure organizations and clubs. Every day, Gear Up continues to earn its reputation for service and products that outperform expectations. Our resources and experience, combined with our commitment to focus on the needs of professional users, has put us in a unique position to support the specialized needs of the outdoor lovers, rescue community and —now and for many years to come.
